15. BUILDING COLLABORATIVE RELATIONSHIPS

    Definition: The ability to develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships with others inside or outside of the organization who can provide information, assistance and support.

    Behaviors
    1. Asks about the other person’s personal experiences, interests, and family
    2. Asks questions to identify shared interest, experiences or other common ground
    3. Shows an interest in what others have to say; acknowledge their perspectives and ideas
    4. Recognizes the business concerns and perspective of others
    5. Expresses gratitude and appreciation to others who have provided information, assistance or support
    6. Takes time to get to know co-workers, to build rapport and establish a common bond
    7. Tries to build relationships with people whose assistance, cooperation and support may be needed
    8. Provides assistance, information and support to others, to build a basis for future reciprocity
